Please share any thoughts on the new Garmin GPSMAP H1 handheld navigator? Looks like all the features that people have been asking for. I'm just starting to look at it more closely and curious what others think.

Also interested in opinions on this handheld, Was thinking about the GPSMAP 67 but would rather have a touchscreen for entering waypoint labels.

I just went with the 67i. It is considerably less expensive than the H1 and there have been a lot of reports with bugs on the H1. I'm sure I will miss the touch screen. But in the grand scheme of things a couple more minutes entering waypoint or track names isn't really the biggest deal.

It is also unclear to me whether the H1 requires the user to start an activity to navigate. That seems to be the way the new eTrex Touch works. I like just being able to turn it on and have it showing the map and actively tracking.

67I is a better all around GPS unit in my opinion. The H1 has bugs and the touch screen is difficult to operate in wet conditions. Also the H1 is slightly heavier.

I've used the 67i now all through archery and rifle season here in PA now and I'm pretty please with it. The buttons are a non-issue. In fact, I kind of like them better than the touch screen. Data entry is as fast using two fingers as the touch screen using one. I like that I can use it with gloves too and not having to worry about battery life is pretty awesome.

I had a couple waypoints I marked that, when I tracked back to them, were off by about 50-75 yards which I found a bit odd. I have to do some more testing there but I was able to navigate easily to pre-existing waypoints I moved from my Oregon.
