If you remember, I won the coin toss on the first stalk a few days ago, so it was still Cindy's turn. However, today the bucks came to their beds closer to the ridge I was on than where Cindy and Nick were. Cindy spotted the bucks just at sunrise, butI had better odds, so I stayed with them as long as I could until they climbed the ridge and headed to where Cindy could stalk them. As mentioned, we lost visual contact with the bucks but Cindy knew where they crossed the ridge. We picked up their tracks and followed them around the mountain to the cover they most likely bedded in. Cindy and I spent two hours moving through this glassing every nook and cranny hoping to spot one laying there. This is cattle country and the bucks live with them every day, so I've learned to pick through the cows as the bucks aren't that afraid of them. My gut feeling is the bucks were there (only cover within 500 yards and it was getting late when we lost sight of them) but too far into the cover to glass. You have to know where they are or you'll never get an arrow off as they get up.
