Can anyone recommend 'quiet' gators? Many that I have seen or been around are quite loud. Would like to eliminate as much artificial noise as possible... just in case...

The Wilderness Pack Specialties gaiters use a short nap fleece that doesn't attract burs that is very quiet.
I've been very happy w/ them, and price is fair.

A buddy of mine gave me a pair of Mountain Hardwear ascent waders that I haven't had a chance to try out yet. Anyone have any experience with these?

Just picked up a pair of OR expedition Crocs in Multicam…. I held them side by side to a pair of regular black crocs…. The difference in the material thickness is minor…IMHO
In fact I feel a bit better about them being thicker and more robust.

I'm sending my 3 year old kuiu gaiters back for repairs or replacement here shortly. But have loved them every step of the way except the Velcro lost a bit of grab over the seasons. I'm waiting on a pair of OR Wrapid gaiters for an elk hunt on the 14th. Wanted something low profile to keep pants/laces dry/clean! Reviews were good too

I've been using OR's for several years now. I have a pair of OR Verglas and their now discontinued Cascadia Gore-tex gaiters made of their Paclite shell material. I typically wear the Cascadia's under my wool pants and I really like them because they are light weight. Both work well and keep my boots dry.
