Gaiters and snake protection

I finally carved out some time to head to Wyoming for my first antelope hunt and I am looking for some suggestions for snake protection. I found the snake gaiters that have plastic or heavy fabric online, turtleskins and the like. I am wondering if a guy could just use a set of "hunting" gaiters and have a reasonable amount of protection and still be able to comfortably use the gaiters for normal hunting situations? Seems like the snake gaiters have either plastic panels or a heavy cordura. If I have to shell out the money for snake gaiters it would be nice to be able to use them later in the year for water/snow protection too.

Thanks

I have a set of the turtleskins for my southern Arizona hunts in the heat. They are ultra light and I can't tell the difference between them and my KUIU or OR Gaiters for fit and weight. Any gaiter in the heat is going to make my legs sweat and these are no different. Also to test their puncture proof rating I tried to shove a sewing needle through them with a set of pliers. No dice! Needless to say they are tough and I feel a lot more warm and fuzzy that they'd stop a set of snake fangs.

I’ve filled 5 archery tags for antelope in Wyoming in August and I’ve not seen a single rattle snake on any of my hunts there

I spend a bunch of time in eastern Wyoming and western South Dakota. Rarely see snakes unless I am trying to find them.
