This is all speculation, bear with me.

With U.S. patent no. 6935976 set to expire on Saturday, the G5 Megameat design might be fair game. This could be big for a couple of reasons.

1. G5 may be gearing up to release a "Megameat 2"
2. Everybody and their mom could be free to clone the design and finally make some improvements on it

Since G5 themselves dropped the T2 immediately following the expiration of the original Rocky Mountain Snyper (Rage) design patent, and we've seen an absolute flurry of reimagined Rage clones in the last 3 years, I fully expect to see a titanium-ferruled Megameat clone announced by another major manufacturer in the next few weeks.

Could be interesting.

Not sure why a Ti ferrule would be an improvement. I’ve blown though a pile of elk with the OG dead meat with excellent results, many you couldn’t even tell had been shot. IMO the only improvement would to make a glue in version for .166 arrows!

The original patent for possibly the original deadmeat expired.

There's still a few patents that cover things the deadmeat v2/mega meat do

Possibly others.

I have several old t3s, they all wobble, I think I was gifted them but have never used em.

I really like the old Tekan style heads, have many!

Has anybody seemed to notice that a megameat will almost close up if it encounters hard bone? I've had a few experiences where going through a whitetails shoulder area has produced an exit hole that looks similar in size to a hole from a G5 montec

Yeah the blades on the megameat are very thin and flexible. It's not a durable head by any means.

This was a Mega meat from this year. The entrance was high and back, hard quartering away from a treestand. It went all the way through him and split his shoulder bone right above the joint in the thick part of the scapula. Full pass through. The entrance was huge, but I agree, I thought the exit would’ve been bigger. If you zoom in you can see it on his left shoulder.
