This is all speculation, bear with me.
With U.S. patent no. 6935976 set to expire on Saturday, the G5 Megameat design might be fair game. This could be big for a couple of reasons.
1. G5 may be gearing up to release a "Megameat 2"
2. Everybody and their mom could be free to clone the design and finally make some improvements on it
Since G5 themselves dropped the T2 immediately following the expiration of the original Rocky Mountain Snyper (Rage) design patent, and we've seen an absolute flurry of reimagined Rage clones in the last 3 years, I fully expect to see a titanium-ferruled Megameat clone announced by another major manufacturer in the next few weeks.
Could be interesting.
