Fury Universal Fit vs Bore Specific

Hello. Does anyone have experience comparing universal fit fury bullets, specifically the 320 grain .50 cal, with their bore specific? I have another muzzleloader elk tag this fall and looking at yet again trying another bullet and these peaked my interest. Shooting 2 knight mountaineers. One I have sized for 0.502 Thor bullets, the other is likely similar but possibly 0.501. Just wondering if I should test both, universal fit and size the bore and try the bore specific? Has anyone noticed a difference in accuracy between them? Also, if you have used them on larger game like elk, how was performance? Thanks for your time.

No experience firsthand but I did read someone had bought furys based on the Thor size and it did not work, so buying the fury sizing kit would be recommended.

I got the sizing pack for my 50 cal mountaineer and bought a bag of 501s based on that.
I found the loading pressure to be pretty inconsistent shot-to-shot. According to Fury, this necessitated a sizing die.
Went with the universals instead and haven’t had a problem.
I can’t comment on accuracy between the two but the universal has been satisfactory for many guys. One drawback is that, to my knowledge, the universal is undersized and thus will require a stout load to obturate into the rifling.
I killed my first elk ever with the 320gr universal on Thanksgiving. 56 yards quartered away and he went ten yards or less. Didn’t recover the bullet as I was solo and on a time crunch.

I’m a big fan of the universal fit. They shoot great out of my optima. I previously shot Thors and had a lot sizing issues with them, which led to inconsistent groups.

That was my experience. In a Rem UML using 3 pellets they keyholed, 4 pellets and they shoot fantastic tested out to 500yds. It was/is a friends gun and he's married to pellets so that's what I tested with. It's a gun that gets loaned out a lot and that is the reason to use pellets, to keep it loading wise as simple as possible. Fury Uni's and pellets are about as simple as it gets. It is a heavy recoiler though with 4 pellets and 320 Fury's with no brake.
