How is the fit on the chinook pants? IE what size do you wear normally? I tend we wear 34x34 jeans but they are usually a tad loose/long (IE 33x33 is what I'd ideally need).

You should be fine I'm a 32-33"waist and 34" kuiu pants are just slightly loose. the inseam is about 34"
