Weight not an issue: Rebar with a trimmed/angled end and no bends. Just set at an angle.

Nail style , can be alum as Easton , big metal spikes or somewhere i between . You can also use screws like concrete or ice

I use the heavy duty Easton nail style. Worked great but they were a BITCH to pull out after a week! I bent most of them trying to get them loose.

The one's I use only have the threads on about 7" of the bolt, the top part is smooth. I have the zinc-plated ones, 3/8 x 12 with a 9/16 head. I use a washer below the head, so the ropes stay put. But my goodness, these things have shot through the roof for price. I bought 50 of them for $33 before Covid, now I've seen them for as much as $4.50 a piece. But I've seen them in quantity as well between $1-2/ea.

I broke my left wrist (left-handed) in 2017 right before archery elk so refused a cast. Now I have a bunch of arthritis in that wrist, and hammering in tent stakes (37 for my wall tent) causes a lot of pain. These lag bolts with my Dewalt impact are a cinch, and I haven't had one loosen up on its own yet, even in strong winds.

I use 10" landscape spikes with a flat washer. For removal I took an old nail puller and opened up the v-slot so it fits the spikes.

I broke several of those off trying to extract from frozen ground this fall. We tried pouring boiling water on them but couldn’t budge them out.

If not, I use 10" galvi spikes. Nice that that they're less than a buck a pop at any hardware store too.

Doesn't always work. I lost 16 MSR groundhogs two weeks ago. They drove fine, but would not come up. All the loops broke while trying to do that, tried to dig them out, etc. I then had to go to REI and I did not realize how expensive stakes were now. $68 later I was back in business!
