From Flatlander to Billy Goat...One Man's Journey

Pack Walk (50#):
32 minutes, 343 calories, 1.66 miles

Wish I knew my vertical gain. Tried to keep the incline set on 10. My calves were on fire. Would've done more but was busy playing firefighter/paramedic all day.

Rhendrix,
Good stuff here. I have kept track of my workouts for the past 2 years. Living here in Colorado at 6900 ft. has it's advantages, keep up the good work. I find it very motivating to look back at my past workouts and see how far I have come. You are doing yourself a favor by doing the hard work now. I wish I would have strayed in shape after playing college soccer.

3 hours of sleep on Saturday night, 5 hours on Sunday night...lacking some motivation right now...about to just go suck it up and row for 20-25 minutes.

Way to go, Ron! Don't let the "I don't feel like it todays" win.

I've been doing CrossFit the last couple of months, getting ready for a sheep hunt this summer. I'm PMing daily workout results back and forth with Codie on TBH. I like your accountability method here too. Good stuff.

By the way, I bought some of these boots a while back, and they're really nice boots. I just ordered a 2nd pair to use whenever my 1st pair ends up wearing out. I needed a hot weather boot for the sheep hunt. Very comfortable and well-made.

Shane, thanks buddy! Feel free to send me some of those WOD on here or TBH buddy. And you'll love those Bate boots, I bought a pair in all black for station boots at work, they're awesome. Oakley makes an awesome hot weather boot too, I wish I never sold mine!

Didn't workout yesterday. Was busy at work from 7am to 11pm. Gonna double up today.

Feeling like crap, my daughter has had the crud for a couple of days now, think its making its rounds. I can't walk up the stairs without feeling winded and can't breath outta my nose. This blows...any suggestions what I can do, was thinking about just doing some body weight squats and push-ups.

Slept most of yesterday (1/17), but feel much better, still stopped up from allergies or sinus problems, but don't feel wiped.

Decided to do something fun today and knock out two birds with one stone. Set up a target outside the house at 20 yards, shot 6 arrows cold, here's my group:

Then rowed six 500 meter intervals with 60 seconds rest in between. During the rest interval I shot one arrow.

Here's my splits:

And here's my group:

Not horrible, but not what I want either. Going to try to do this every once a while and work my way out to 40 yards.

Thanks, Shane, I personally think both groups could've been a lot tighter, but that's just me being a perfectionist.

Tired, worn out, and feeling discouraged today, not feeling very confident in my thought process about putting in for a mule deer tag in CO for unit 75/751, and confused about what I should do for a back up plan if I don't get drawn, should I get some time in the area and hunt OTC elk, or should I just look for a different OTC unit altogether and just collect preference points. Decisions, decisions...

Thanks, making this a habit and finding time to do it is difficult with two small kids and church and work commitments. But I don't wanna look back on this year with any regrets. I'm gonna start using a calorie counting app here soon, should be interesting since I've been on a "see food" diet since i started working out again.
