Free Gear and Preseason scouting

Rokslide and SKRE Extreme Mountain Gear have teamed up for an exciting opportunity for a Rokslide member to win free SKRE Gear. Winners will be randomly selected from the list of contributors on or about July 15th by the SKRE Extreme Mountain Gear staff.

I hunt in the unit I live in so……………. I’m scouting everyday almost. But seriously going up in the mountains tomorrow for firewood and will be scouting. Later this week I have a scouting trip/fishing trip up the other mountains. Take a couple drives a week and do some glassing.

White tail deer will start scouting mid-July and right up to the opening day of early muzzleloader season. But not so much to find the deer but pick out the one I will kill, very fortunate where I hunt good numbers of bucks and some dandies in the area.

Elk - will set up spike camp a couple of days before season and will scout a bit then. I have a two friends of friends who drew goat tags. Hope to help them scout.

July 4th high country mule deer scouting - 4 days

Spending a couple weekends scouting and setting cameras for elk. Will return in August to bear hunt and check cams.

Does e-Scouting count? Unfortunately I won't get too much for boots on the ground with work/life until I am there for the elk season, but doing what I can (electronically) almost daily in the mean time!
Get out more often here and there for whitetail here in Wisco.
