Freak Antelope

I seen such a freakazoid in MT back in the early 90's. Had one horn (right) curled forward and down and to the side a little bit that looked like it was seriously impacting the vision in that eye. The other side horn stuck straight out to his left, near horizontal. Looked for him for 4-5 days and never saw him again. That would have been a very interesting mount.

Interesting thought - I wonder how an official scorer would measure him.

My son and me were talking about this last night. If the old is firmly Ayrshire to the new, it would be considered one, right?

I think so? Would be a pain for the taxidermist for sure. If I saw him in the field with a tag in my pocket, I would find out.

Has anyone seen this antelope in real life?
It looks like last years sheds tied on this years horns. You can see the store string.
I can’t see any rub marks on the top of the nose from last years sheds.
I would like to see it in person.

It looks real, and both sets of horns match. I don’t see anyone faking that.
I felt the same way initially.... but in this day and age, I don't believe much so agree it should be looked at with scrutiny. I have spent almost 20 years straight looking at antelope daily and have never seen one with sheds naturally attached. If it's real, it's very rare and really cool. If it's fake, it's still a really cool buck with a unique set of horns. Either way, glad it was posted.
