I'd be interested to hear what you packed that you wish you didn't? Or what you wish you packed but hadn't?

I fell for the hot tent meme. I don't quite regret it, but I would have been just as warm and way lighter and more comfortable using my hammock setup. Otherwise, I think I packed all the right gear. I've been dialed in for years though - I average 50 days/year backpacking for the past decade. Also, if I recall correctly the temperature range was from like 15 - 70 degrees, so for the first time ever it was beneficial to pack extra clothes. My favorite new gear for that trip was the First Lite 308 lined pant though according to my notes. I do love those things

Glad u said the hot tent was overkill. I have backpacked and camped in temps down to 5* and never felt like I would have wanted a stove to haul around. How much does the stove weigh and how does the pipe pack down? Thanks

This is the one I got and it worked really well. The website says 3lbs packed, but it also took up a bunch of volume in my pack and when you're carrying 10 days of food that really matters. I think it snowed snowed once and then flurried the rest of the time, so I could always have just made a fire outside to get warmed up in the mornings. The worst part was that I had to set a timer for 90 minutes all through the night to restoke it because it had about a 2 hour burn rate no matter how I tinkered with the flu. My second to last night as I was making my way back to the landing strip was particularly freezing since I was in the bottom of the valley next to a river and the fires had burned out most of the wood in the ground
