Long time follower, new to posting. I was born and raised in Idaho and then work has taken me away. I typically hunt controlled hunt for cow elk with family each year in Idaho. I am planning this year on a back pack hunt in the early fall rifle hunt in the Frank Church as an adventure while still young enough to get around that type of country. We hope to be able to find a bull or at least some predators. I will have mountain lion, bear, and wolf tags also. I have worked in the Frank previously in the summer fighting wildfires, so I am familiar with the type of country we are getting into. I have always wanted to return. My question is for anyone who has hunted the early hunt in the Frank, are there typically fire restrictions in place during the early hunt that would restrict me from using a titanium backpack stove in a hot tent. I know commonly fires can still be burning up there during the earlyseason and also know the weather can be below freezing and as high as 70 that time of year. I also realize the precipitation can change year to year and change restrictions. We are planning to go up to the high elevations. I am asking this question so I can decide what type of hot tent/stove vs just 4 season tent to begin purchasing and the other gear I am going to start purchasing for the hunt. We are planning to hunt and camp from our packs and stay mobile. Thank you for any input in advance.

Second question I forgot to add above is I know there are a lot of snakes in the the Frank Church. Are they typically down in the sage and rock lower elevations or are they frequently encountered up at 7000-8000 feet in the timber?

Don't remember any fire restrictions last year it was pretty wet to start the season off. I have hunted twice in the Frank. Beautiful country. Make sure you have a plan on how to get it out if you get something down in there! Elk meat is to precious a commodity to waste.
