Drew a sandhill crane hunt and don't know much about shotguns.

A guy I work with recommended a Franchi Affinity 3.

Would this be a solid all around shotgun in 12 gauge?

Little bit of use I have with one I think it would make you a good gun in that price range.

Bought one two years ago and live it . Swings like my wing master. Pair it with pattern master code black and # 2 black cloud and you will be a crane wrecking machine

Depends on where you are hunting, but you may be able to shoot them with lead shot. Definitely an advantage if it’s legal where you’re hunting.
We shot them with lead #6’s and there were no cripples.

Have the OG affinity in 20g and it’s one of my favorites for duck because of how well it swings. It does not do well with light target loads but has never missed a beat with steel duck shot. Also, because it’s an inertia gun it has more recoil than my versamax 12g.

Overall they are solid for the price

Agree with everyone above. I have a 12 gauge and absolutely love it. Its so light which makes it swing like a dream. I use it for ducks, upland birds, and turkey.

Yes there very nice and very reliable. I don't shoot them very well. For some reason Benelli products do agree with my eye.

After just buying my son a left handed Affinity 20 we now have 5 Franchis in the family. You are going to be very happy with your purchase.

I won a GunBroker auction for a Affinity 3 elite. Thanks all for the recommendations. Going to be ancy waiting for it.
I purchased mine around two years ago and have probably shot around 5 cases through it between shooting clays and all sorts of bird hunting. It's been great so far, I make sure to keep it clean and have had zero issues with it. You should really enjoy it, for the price its hard to beat.

I took it to shoot clay pigeons last week. It was fun as hell. Need to get a choke and settle on what shells I want to use for hunting now.
