What are some thoughts on my form and draw length? Dudleys recent post has me thinking about front shoulder pain and whether draw length is a contributor. Thanks!

Kind of tough to tell but it looks OK to me, front shoulder is down, elbow doesn't look locked but arm is straight, string is at nose and just past corner of mouth, head is level...and you are totally prepared to hammer that trigger!

I know I seem to get front shoulder pain when my draw is too short and I compress my front shoulder, or it creeps back on me because I do the start/stop pull through. One other big thing that seems to matter for me is to have very few muscles engaged at full draw in my front arm.

Paige Pierce said she quit shooting an index trigger due to shoulder problems. She said the strap strains the shoulder unnaturally during the draw. Not sure which shoulder you are talking about, I think if was her release shoulder. Apparently this is a typical problem, although I have never heard of it before.

Yeah I need to be easier on the trigger haha. It seems like my shoulder pain when I compress it or I have crappy form while drawing

A whole lot of people draw their bow wrong; straight back in front of their chest. Sets your shoulders in the wrong position before you even get started.

Can you elaborate on that last comment Bob? I switched from wrist release to thumb, and it is an interesting shift from muscle groups. It feels simple to draw with the thumb release, but wrist felt more effortless.

Looks good from that angle. A little more broadside would be easier to tell for sure but at first glance it looks ok. Do you feel cramped or overextended?

hard to tell from the angle but might be leaning back slightly. just shorten it up a half inch and shoot for a few days, see how it feels
