I am just getting back into bow hunting after a several year break. I assumed bows had likely advanced a ton based on the regular improvements I recalled from the late 90s and early 2000s. I was surprised just how similar new bows are to my carbon matrix from 2010. They have improved but nearly as much as I expected. I was prepared to buy a new one but will likely use mine another year or 2 and perhaps spend the $ on a new rifle instead.

You could find a great deal on an 8 Ultra since they want to get rid of them. One of the best frugality hacks is to just buy last year's model as they are always at a discount and you can get a new bow for a used price. That goes for everything, not just bows. You can have nice stuff if you just live 1 year behind the Jones Family.
