Form 4 in 135 Days

So I received a very unexpected phone call yesterday morning from the gun store holding my suppressor. Missed the initial call but thought I recognized the number and couldn't think of a single reason they would be calling aside from my Form 4. Figured it couldn't be though because the check was cashed on November 3rd so I wasn't even going to bother calling ATF to check the status until summer. Sure enough the Form 4 was back approved and I picked it up. It was approved March 17th for a total of 135 days which is unheard of to me lately. Anyone else have a similar experience?
The other funny thing is that in true government fashion I had another Form 4 that was cashed July 3rd and was STILL pending. 285 days and counting. No logic whatsoever. So on a whim I called ATF to check and... ALSO APPROVED April 6th!
Combine that with my Nightforce ATACR arriving at the house and I'm going to go ahead and call yesterday the best gun day ever!

When eForms first went live years ago I had a form 4 approved in 32 days. That can sits in the safe beside another one that took a week shy of a year.

My guess is yours was docketed for someone helping out the primary reviewer for your area. Is the approver on both forms the same? The times I have seen big swings in approval times, the faster form was signed by someone helping out the primary approvers for an area.

That's a good question. I haven't heard from the dealer on the one the other one yet but when I do I'll check. One thing the dealer told me yesterday is that it seems like forms that went up after November 1st are coming back a lot quicker. Could be pure coincidence but let's hope an improvement was made to pick up the pace.

Brutal. I was convinced both of mine were going to be the same. No rhyme or reason for it. I decided I wasn't even going to bother calling to check the status until the first of every month until I got the call. The only reason I checked on the one yesterday was because I called NFA branch with a question regarding carrying proof of my tax stamp around and while I had them on the phone I asked if they could check the status. Imagine my surprise when she was like "hey it was approved April 6th!" Hope yours comes back soon.

I just had one approved in 126 days. Wasn’t so bad for my first. Hope they are speeding up, it’s easier to justify buying another if I know I won’t have to wait a year.

I was surprised when I got the call, the form 4 beat the gun build I bought it for.

Haha funny how that works, isn't it? Ever since I got the call (and found out another call will be coming any day now) I keep telling myself I should put down on another one. I have two solid rifle cans now and don't really need one though. I would just end up buying the rifle I've been looking at to convince myself I need another suppressor for it.

I submitted mine on 4/24/19 and the tax stamp was cashed on 6/7/19. Still waiting....

It took about 9 months for my first suppressor about 3 years ago. I just submitted a Form 4 for my next suppressor and my $200 check was cashed March 27th (the day after the ATF received my paperwork). I'll be amazed if I get my suppressor before the end of the year.

Last one was 350 days, currently have a form 1 in process that’s been in que for 3 weeks. Hope to have an answer back on that one soon.

I have heard on a Georgia forum of a few people getting them back fast, but not many.

similar on mine purchased in october. form 4 sent in november and card charged nov 28th. approved 4-27-20 on the rifle this week.
