For everyone who is considering moving to WY…

I don't think most people have a clue, and that video is shot in town Chugwater with some buildings and bluffs slowing the wind down some too.

HA! Been there, done that, and have no desire whatsoever to live on the high plains again.

Why live in that wind unless it is something akin to a big family ranch handed down generation to generation.

And yes, though much is, not all of WY is that windy.

You can add a lot of places in MT to this thread. Been there done that. Tents exploding and tore to pieces, then sleeping in the trucks the rest of the trip. Yee-Ha.

I was out in eastern Wy in early Oct for a pronghorn hunt. Visited with an old friend that moved to Chugwater from the St Louis area a dozen or so years ago. They were having hurricane force winds today. It was quite pleasant the day we visited in the afternoon of the day I tagged out.

I think the wind got to 80 mph here in Livingston MT yesterday. I was told it hit 97 in Big Timber. I think of it as population control 😁

That wind in the video probably isn't over 40 mph max. The guy is standing up easily.
I'm east of Big Timber @ 20 miles and we probably only had 60 max. but town got
it good.

Gotta love chinooks.
