It looked like Manning may have had a concussion after his one play.

I was starting to think I was the only one who saw that. He got rocked; his body went limp to the point he couldn’t hold onto the ball. Poor kid was barely able to stand up and looked like Bambi trying to find his sideline. I wonder if they actually put him on concussion protocol and pulled him but never reported it. Announcers were so worked up about the fumble that they didn’t even show replay of him not able to walk or mention it.

ND is in ACC conference, but they have been making noise about joining Big 10.

ND is independent in football. ACC in all other sports.
They are making a huge financial windfall with the playoff games since they don't split that money with any conference members. Same for their regular season NBC contract. They won't ever join a conference in football. Can't blame them.

Downside to being independent: with the current 12 team format they would never get a bye since they won't ever be a conference champ.The byes didn't help this year and the format may get tweaked.

If ND doesn't make the playoffs, they get zero dollars. Even lowly Purdue is getting a cut from Oregon, Ohio State and Penn State playoff games.

Herbert had 3 interceptions the entire regular season. (Some of those today were receiver error)

It's areal shame he is on such a sucky team. A real talent waisted as long as he is with the chargers. Winning is not in their DNA
