FNG'S ROKSLIDE SURVIVAL GUIDE

Been here since 2019 but hadn't posted anything, trying to buy from the classifieds right now and just finding out about some of the rules.... should've contributed by now anyways.

Man I wound have never figured that scammers would be targeting the WTB items. Crazy how far people go now instead of just getting a job

Great feedback, much appreciated. Yes posting a "Want to buy" (WTB) ad, as we have seen in the past here, opens your inbox up for potential scammers real quick. The general consensus here is to not do it. Keep in mind not against any rules what so ever. But like Austin Powers always said....."I too, like to live dangerously"
Thanks for the heads-up!

I have been an intermittent, silent observer for several years, but decided to join in. I appreciate this thread.

Well, if we didn't have any FNG's we would grow stagnant.
Some of the post in this FNG thread had me laughing.
This is my second time being an FNG, that's okay too.
I've been a long-time person on the Campfire; I attend a few other Forums as well.
Like anything, you get out of it what you put into it.
I truly wish you all the best this crazy world has to offer.

Summertime maybe over by about 1/2 this means, we are getting closer to Fall. I hope all you gents have gotten your tags you wanted.
I did a spring bear hunt in Montana, I didn't shoot any, I was looking for an off-color bear, so a few black colored bears got to live another day.
I'll be hunting bear this Fall in California and an elk hunt this Fall in Colorado. My tag for elk in Colorado is for a nice fat cow. Elk steaks on the BB-Q are yummy.

You nice people take care.

Hey FNG's read these two posts for a little primer on how to survive and to get the most out of your time on rokslide!

Thank you for posting this Glendon.

@CouesNStuff It’s not a matter of being afraid of the gatekeepers, it’s a matter of being respectful to the forum as a whole. Just like you’re being very upfront about why you created the account we’re very upfront about why you must follow the rules. We have several post relating to the terms and conditions of the website and they need to be adhered to. If you’ve come to this forum only for the classified ads, you may not be the best fit for Rokslide. This place has so much more to offer than getting a good deal on a used backpack. You have some of the best big game hunters on the planet that participate in daily discussion. If that’s not your jam, that’s cool, but you will have to respect the rules and the other members of the forum or your stay will be a short one. Not trying to be rude here, but we’ve already had people report you for not following the rules. Please familiarize yourself with all of the rules and follow them. We truly appreciate you being a member but we expect you to be carry yourself like a responsible member.

@philos I've had an account here for less than 24 hours and I've already had a post deleted and implications made that I'm not a "responsible" member. I have yet to break any rules and have certainly not been disrespectful to anyone, yet I get my post deleted and a long "warning" message from you. My original post did not violate any terms or rules and if it affected anyone then it did so because of their own biases and not by any wrong doing on my part. I am not here to go to war per se but I find it extremely childish to censor me out for being honest about wanting to participate in the classifieds. What gives?
