I’m from western Washington, I bite my tongue and don’t repeat that often. If you watch the news you know why. But I’ll keep the politics out of it cause that would be whining. There are good people here though I’d like to think I am one of them.
Anyways I’ve hunted out of state a lot I would say through my 20’s I was fortunate to have a good paying job with lots of time off. Been applying out of state the last ten years for special draw tags, was shooting for the moon trying to get highly sought after tags but as of late have changed my point of view to quality of the hunt not the animal. Would rather throw my boots on the ground more often than once in a lifetime. In my travels of research I have crossed this forum many times thought I would see what it’s all about cause I like what I see.
The last three years have been full of getting married and had two kids kind of put a damper on the hunting seasons but well worth it. Can’t wait to share my hunts with my kids one day.
Heading back to Idaho this year after a 4 year absence got a pioneer OTC A tag and a general deer. Never been there but like the look of the country. I fell in love with spike camp hunting in Washington cause it’s the only way to have a hillside to yourself thought this area would cater to that.
Was hoping to hunt unit 50 for elk spike camping I heard lots of people but I’m used to it. Was hoping in my elk hunting travels I could line up a possible deer hunt for oct. Good to be here anybody want give a guy their input on my direction in Idaho would be much appreciated.

Headed there solo? Also had 2 kids in the last 3 years. Put a bit of a damper on the hunts, but wouldn’t trade it. I too live on the WA wet side.

Headed there with my brother not sure exactly where but we will figure it out as we go. Probably gonna be a lot of trial and error but country looks cool enough to keep my interest. Wet side, you could say that again. What part you from

I don't have any info on Unit 50 specifically, but it should be a good time! Best of luck to you. I'm located in Pac. County.

Yeah we will see gonna have to wait and see. I’m kind of at the discretion of the fish and game right now. Tags were in transit to be swapped thought there was enough time then they sold out. Soooo hopefully it works out if not oh well I’ll just be happy to have a tag.

I hunt a unit to the west of 50. Most of the elk I see the last week of October/first week of November are at 6000-7500 scattered in small herds.
Hope this helps.

Good luck from Snohomish
