Hey all,
FNG from New Mexico. Just started trying to teach myself how to hunt, what I need and what I don’t, with hopes to someday harvest large game to supply myself with game meat. I’ve decided to start with predators so I can practice ethical kills, skinning, and tanning hides. It’s also good practice for me gear wise to see what I like to use and what I don’t like to use. There’s a ton of gear out there and I’m only gonna know what works for me by trying it out.
Currently hunt with a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 CM with a Leupold 4-14x creedmoor scope on the way. I have a Bog death grip that’s nice for zeroing scopes but is quite heavy to lug through the woods so not sure if I’ll be using that on my stands.
Glad to be here and hope to learn a lot. Anyone else in NM have any tips I’d love to hear them!
