Hey everyone,
Looking for some advice. Last season I was shooting Easton FMJ 5mm 300 spine arrows with Grim Reaper expandable 110 grain broadheads. I’m pulling 72 pounds with a 30 inch draw. The issue is that nearly every arrow broke on impact, and that was just on whitetail.
I’m wondering if the Grim Reapers dumped too much energy and contributed to the arrows failing. I recently picked up another dozen 300 spine FMJs on a deal, so I want to get the build right this time for elk.
What do you guys recommend for insert or outsert setup, collars, and broadheads? I’m planning to run 125 grain fixed heads this time around, but I’m open to suggestions. My priority is durability and penetration, especially on quartering shots.
