I'm not a fan of FMJ's for two reasons: I routinely bent them after going through an animal or hitting another shaft during target practice
My solution to this, being that FMJ is the only arrow I've found to shoot well out of my bow, is basically I buy my 6 or 12 arrows, shoot and find which ones shoot the best. From there, I take 1 from the bottom and 1 from the top, and only shoot those to practice with. Come season, I just rotate those 2 I used as practice arrows out for new ones or turn them into grouse arrows.
