Wondering what protocol is when flying with a suppressor but no rifle. Can you just bundle the suppressor up and the paperwork and put it in your carry on?

I fly with mine several times a month. No special considerations are needed, nor storage other than a checked (no carry-on) locked case as it is still considered a controlled item. Just make sure you follow your local hunting laws wherever your destination is. In addition, I keep my approved form 4s in the case. TSA is not ATF enforcement, and they cannot prove or disprove/validate the legality of your suppressor. However, instead of fighting that battle I just show them the paperwork with my name and serial. I keep the paperwork in a gallon Ziploc bag taped to the inside lid of my cases. It also includes additional zip ties in case somebody feels the need to cut a lock. The zip ties are heavy duty.

I fly with mine all the time. Usually don’t even take it off the gun, just pack as normal. I have a photo of my Tax stamps on my phone but I’ve never been asked for them.

No issues at all, just don’t fly somewhere they are illegal like Hawaii, California, New York etc.
