Flintlock and patched roundball performance

any reason you don't ask Kibler if he could make you a 40cal barrel for your woodsrunner? He might consider it. Are you just wanting the Isaac Haines type gun?
Ah, didnt think of that one, getting Kibler to run up a 40 cal barrel for the Woodsrunner would be the easy button solution.

@Formidilosus Dunlap can send an Edward Marshall kit with both 40 and 58 (or whatever cals wanted), they place the order with Rice when you order your kit. Probably best to call to order. Sending you a PM

That's right, Edward Marshall and not Isaac Haines. Either one would be great but I'd do the Marshall for the weight if using a bigger cal.

If at all interested in a much more historically correct barrel profile and this weight (because I know you're looking at this from a historical reality perspective), the Rice JJ Henry barrel profile is much more accurate. All the off the shelf swamped barrels are way more swamped than most originals were.

For anyone interested, Brad Emig at Cabin Creek tunes locks. He is the only one I know of that provides the service to a widespread customer base. Polishing the parts is very easy if you understand the mechanics and do's and don'ts. Adjusting geometry and case hardening the frizzen is another thing.
