Fished the King Opener and wore the puffy in the evenings when the temps started to dip around 40's about 10-11 pm on the river. It was warmer than expected considering it felt pretty light in hand.

The jacket lofts well and is relatively wind resistant but certainly not wind proof, and i didnt expect it to be wind proof considering i was running an open boat on the river at about 35 mph when the standing air temp was 40-45 degrees.

Running the boat, i couldnt get the hood cinched down tight enough to keep it from lifting off my head with the wind blowing but thats also probably not what it was designed for or what they had in mind when they made it.

The body mapped insulation is nice, heavier over torso and lighter in the arms. The zippers were a bit sticky at first because the seal is so tight on them but they broke in quickly and i slid some aquaseal zipper lube on them, i do it with all my zippers anyway.

Overall the jacket performed well and kept me warm in the late evening with just a merino t shirt on. I think its going to be great in the sheep hills, especially with a long sleeve merino t and a hard shell over it, i'll be sitting on the ridge glassing for hours on end in total comfort.

I know the puffy has been reviewed before but thats my take on it, for me if it works on the river when its cold and running the boat, it will work in the hills.
