i Will be buying new cold weather, late season stand clothing this year. I’ve basically narrowed it down to the First Lite Sanctuary Jacket/Bibs and the Grey Wolf Lined Wolfskin jacket/bibs. Both are great products but looking for some experiences from people and what they like/dislike.
Thanks!

Where do you hunt?

I had a sanctuary and I was too warm for me in NY. Swapped it for a set of solitudes and have been very happy after one Season.

Wolfskin is a great material and sanctuary is not near as durable as wolgskin.
GWW, in my experience is heavier than comparable sitka/fl items being much lighter/less bulky.

I love wool, my stand stuff is Filson double Mac and bibs. Love it way more than modern stuff with one exception. Cold no problem, wind however gets thru even tight weaves. I use a rain shell be grudgingly

The more I look into it the more I see complaints about the sanctuary not being wind proof, which in colder weather is a big deal. Leaning more towards the lined wolf skin from GWW. Curious if anyone uses the lined wolf skin and how bulky is it for compound bow stand hunting.

Have the sanctuary jacket and as stated above it's not windproof. But I had an even bigger issue with it. The insulation completely failed after a couple years. It lost all of its loft and separated to leave complete bare spots to allow the cold and wind to flow right through. With saying all that it was mostly my fault. I didn't baby the jacket. If I would have know a 400 hundred dollar jacket was fragile I would have never bought it.

Yea I would be pretty disappointed as well and I agree. For $400 that should not happen. Definitely tilting my decision even further to the GWW lined Wolfskin.

For stand hunting, I love the Sanctuary jacket. It‘s warm, comfortable and very quiet. When it’s really cold, I put heat packs in the three interior pockets and I’m good to go all day. I haven’t noticed the wind issue. I’ve used it 2-3 years now.

If you buy the wolfskin stay out of the briars...... ask me how I know this.

I sold all my gray wolf woolens gear and I had a bunch of it. I have found cabelas berber and the discontinued outfitter wool to be much more durable and plenty warm for treestand hunting.
