FL puffy as mid layer?

Anyone wear their puffy underneath an outer layer, like a rain shell?

I've only used it as an outer layer so far and I'm trying to decide if I need to get something different as an insulation layer for use as a mid layer...

Don't get me wrong, my FL puffy is my favorite piece of gear I own! Just trying to figure out how it fits in my layering system since I'm taking rain gear (not just a poncho) for the first time ever...

I wear any of my puffy jackets (including the First Lite one) under my rain jackets all the time if sitting in one spot in nasty rainy/wet weather. But most of the time while hiking a rain jacket and a puffy is much too warm to wear both together.

I've been using the FL Puffy as a mid for almost a year now, it's not the lightest on the market but it's fit, for me, is spot on with a longer torso and sleeves as compared to others.

Ok, so besides being a little heavier there's really no problem since you won't be active with both on?

I'd rather just stick to my FL because of the windshear

Likely not. I certainly would hump a load wearing it and a rain shell.
