Fit of FL puffy over a Kuiu shell

I've picked up a Kuiu Axis jacket in XL which seems to be the perfect size that allows room for three layers underneath (base, grid fleece, and vest). I'm sure it'll work well if I'm moving in frigid weather, but sometimes I'll be stationary for glassing. When I'm stationary I want to put a synthetic puffy over it.

Can anybody tell me what size FL Uncompahgre jacket will fit comfortably over the Kuiu Axis in XL?

I'm heading to AK next fall and need to be prepared for nasty conditions. This is why I'm interested in a Uncompahgre jacket and not something made with down. Open to other lightweight synthetic puffy jackets also.

I called FL and they said that return shipping is free. So I'll try L and XL and return what doesn't fit.

They run big or at least mine did. The medium fit more like a large.
