My first trailcam experience has begun! Bought this on a whim from Camofire during a snowy cabin fever induced splurge and finally got it all set up. Placed the camera about 3 weeks ago pretty close to home. My 7 and 9 year old daughters accompanied me and we made it a big Dadventure day. Decided to go retrieve the camera this morning, only about 1.5 hours house to house. I was hoping to capture something more than just the idiot who set up the camera. We picked this area because we had seen fresh sign, and much to my excitement, the dang thing actually worked! I can see this being a hobby all on its own.

Not sure who the girl in the last photo is and this location wasn't really on any trails so it was sort of random to see a person there. People wander just about everywhere around here I guess.

I think people would be surprised at how many people wander through seemingly random country. Trail cameras have opened my eyes to how many people are in places I would've thought no one went.
One of my buddies had a "secret spot " that took him about six hours to hike into. One year he decided to put a camera on the bottom edge of a rockslide in there. When he went and got the camera a month later there was a picture of a guy in street clothes talking on a cellphone just walking by. I thought it was hilarious.

I think you picked a great spot looking at the pics. Hope this pays off on a nice hunt with your kids.
