I am a Great Lakes area guy and will be going on my first elk trip in Montana this Sept. I actually will only be videoing my buddy who lives out there but calling for him, videoing, and backpacking ought to be a fricken good time! Anyway, I have been wanting to grab some Kryptek gear not only for that trip but also for stand hunting here in the midwest. I am looking to get the Dalibor jacket and pants and also the Aegis jacket and bibs (aegis for stand hunting) All of it will be replacing sitka forest gear. My question would is about fit and comparison of the Dalibor to the sitka 90% gear. From what I gather, at 6'2' 215 lbs, The Dali in Size large should be about equal to the 90% in XL. Also are they made of similar material?

Does anyone have any comments on the Aegis and what is different between the gen 1 and gen 2. I emailed Butch and he said the outer material is quieter on the gen 2 but didn't know if anyone could offer some personal experiences on this. Is the outer on the Aegis similar to that of the Dali? Also I am assuming large in this would be good for me. I wore the sitka fanatic jacket and bibs last year in an XL and those fit pretty good, maybe just a tad big.

I really like this forum. Seems like a lot of good and helpful guys on here. I super pumped for my elk trip. And I have the fiancé completely on board with doing her residency in Missoula next year when she's done with med school.

Can't speak much on the specific pieces you're asking about, but I'm 6'0", 200 lbs and I like XL kryptek jackets. Any way for you to get to a store like Army and Navy or Cabelas to try on a few pieces?

I have found anything current fits true to size so I would guess it is this way with these pieces since I have not tried either of them. The material is probably quieter on the gen 2, it is on my other gen 2 items.

You need at least the XL in both. I have a Gen I Aegis coat and a Dalibor coat. I have both in XL and they fit well. I'm 6'0", 205 athletic build. Not sure about the bibs. Everything but the coats I have had to upsize. Hunting shirts 2xl, vest 2xl, pants 38 have a 34 inch waist. I wear XL coats and shirts and pants I buy 35 inch waist.

Yep...I'm 6'2 235 and wear an XL in the Kryptek coats, 38/XL in the pants and like the 2x shirts a little better than the XL shirts. (I have some of both.) I would say that it will fit pretty similar to the Sitka 90% stuff, however the Kryptek pants are actually cut bigger in XL than Sitka 90% pants in XL.. KUIU on the other hand, I need to size up to 2XL in everything.

I've had both the Gen1 and Gen2 Aegis. They are very different from each other. The Gen2 is cut a little more generous and is much softer on the outside. The Gen2 Aegis in cold weather would be the way to go, but I actually prefer the GEN1 for wet weather. the outer of the GEN2 Aegis is not like the Dalibor. The Aegis is almost a low knap fleece. The Gen2 Aegis is cut a tag bigger than the Sitka Fanatic IMO. (I own the Fanatic as well) For stand hunting, I also own the Sitka Incinerator and IMO that is the ultimate cold weather stand suit.

Not a fan of their customer service on a factory defect that they can see in their computer was only ordered a week prior.

I understand wanting to look at it before sending out a replacement, but having to send it to a third party and waiting several weeks for them to "evaluate" something that still has the fricken tags on it is a bit ridiculous.

Liked the jacket otherwise. Nice and quiet.

Interesting, my gen1 vahallia pants had stitching come undone, I emailed asking if I could send them in for repair. They send no worries and sent me the gen2's and didn't even make me return my gen1's. I was nice about it though when contacting cs, so maybe it was how you went about it but I did it all through email. I have only used their cs once but it was great.

I was nice (no need to be a dick over a failing seam). But they didn't even entertain me, "contact these guys and send it here" was about all I got out of them.
