First Time Coyote Trapping-Any Advice is Welcome

I keep a 5 gallon bucket in the garage it’s 2 gallons of oil based tractor paint and I mix it with two gallons of paint thinner. At the beginning of the season I power wash, than dip the traps hang them and let them dry. Done this the last 5 years. Easy and no wax.

Best way to learn is ask around and find someone else that traps and ask to tag along. I trapped coyotes and Bobcats with limited succes for years until another trappers I met took me on their trap line. If you have any trapping associations or rendezvous in your state they are a great place to ask around. You'll find most trappers are friendly and very willing to help newcomers.
