First time buying SWFA

That's going to be your loner scope? Your poor, old-fashioned friends are going to be so confused. Mil-dot reticle, MOA turrets. Ick. (I know that used to be a thing, and it's probably usable as long as you're not trying to use your reticle to measure what to dial, but the asymmetry of it gives me the heebie-jeebies).

My AccuPoint is the same way and I don’t really find it to be a problem. But I don’t really dial it.

If I was you, if the 3-9x isn’t enough magnification for your purpose, I would get the 3-15x and try it out. I will say, however, that I prefer the 5-20x to the 3-15x. There’s one of those for a fair price on the classifieds right now. They also come up on EBay fairly often.

What do you like about the 5-20 vs 3-15? I have the 6, 3-9, and 3-15, but never tried the 5-20 or the 10.

I have not attended NRL nor probably won't but the swfa gen 2 3 x 15 has performed great at the S2H course and if low light is your huckleberry, well, consider shooting at dark low light. (Any S2H attendees will attest to shooting low light)
I have found that image is somewhat compromised after 12 power in very low light. But it's shootable.

I know it's stupid but I can't get over those fugly ten story tall turrets. If it wasn't for the turrets I'd have bought a few by now.
They serve as a wind break and provide cool shade in the afternoon on hot days that you can actually use tell time with.

Seriously though, who gives a crap how they look? There are so few scopes out there that regularly hold zero for under a grand. Just be happy that you can hit what you’re aiming at and use the rest of the money on ammo.

I know it's stupid I just can't get over it! I'm afraid I'll get stuck between two trees or something unable to pass because the turrets won't let me fit.

Looking for a scope that can be used for my primary hunting rifle (6.5 CM) and used for NRL hunter.

I do have a deposit down for a S2H scope but that won’t be coming till December (I believe, bought as part of the fourth drop)

I currently own a vortex scope and I have that on my PRS gun. But after this last year I will not be having a scope for hunting that doesn’t have a capped windage dial.

Through my reading of forums my two biggest needs with a scope is dependable (drop test) and capped windage (at a fair price).

Through my research it seems like SWFA 3-15 may be a good option. My only worry is that I am not seeing many people talk about (besides this forum) and I am getting flack from my friends saying buy a known brand 😂

So would just love to hear thoughts on this scope (or others scope options) and SWFA products as a whole.

Thanks for the advice and help!
Trijicon Credo..... highly recommend. Eurooptic has em sale now.

I have the 5-20x for a .22-250 groundhog/varmint rifle. I don’t have anything against the 3-15x. I just don’t have much use for the low end on it and they are about the same price secondhand.

The 10x is probably my favorite scope they make, even if it isn’t objectively the best.

I respect the Trijicons for their toughness and have recommended the Huron series to friends who want MOA point and shoot scopes. But dislike their reticle choices on anything MIL. The Mil-quad reticle that SWFA makes is one of the best on the market for low-light, complex backgrounds and speed. It’s significantly better than the illuminated tree reticles in the Trijicon 10-mile. They are too busy and have too much illumination to be my choice in field conditions.
