I have a sawtooth, uncompahgre puffy, Woodbury, and the older rain jacket that is not the ultralight.. I mostly archery hunt but do take my in laws on a mid October Colorado elk hunting a mid November deer rifle in Nebraska. I was thinking of getting rid of the puffy and getting a catalyst. I love the puffy but wanted something a little more water repellent and quiet. What are all of your thoughts on the catalyst? Am I nuts to get rid of the puffy? Thanks'

Nate

I can’t speak to the quality of the Catalyst but I have a couple of Uncompahgres and I really love those jackets. So light and warm. No way I’d ever toss them I don’t think

I'd get a catalyst and keep the puffy haha. No such thing as too much gear is there?

A softshell(catalyst) and puffy(Unpronounceable) are 2 very different jackets. i would think about getting both for sure. i would always have a puffy. dont always need a softshell though.

Softshell jackets seem to be great for town, but for hunting I have always struggled with it being the right piece. If it were me I would lean towards the Seak for complete coverage and insulate it with the puffy if necessary.

Keep the puffy
Get the cat as an addition

But if you have to sell something sell your saw tooth
