First Lite Suspenders and Pack

Just got some first lite kanabs and like the fact that they come with suspenders. But noticed the g clip on the back seems a bit bulky. It also seems like it might land on my lumbar pad and rub. Has anyone had any issues with this, is it not an issue for anyone? Do people just not wear suspenders with a backpack? Does anyone use something less bulky to attach their pants and suspenders?

I seem to have an unfortunate shape to my body that causes belted pants to sag while hiking and my underwear to get pulled up and bunch above the belt in the back. Sorry for the overshare. It's not real comfortable and as you can imagine the bunched underwear can rub a pretty good red spot on my back. Also the front of my pants end up right in a spot on the front that causes the pack belt to rub. I was hoping suspenders would be a helpful solution but not sure with the G clip where it is.

I will test them out this week and see how they do. Just curious what other people have experienced or found.

Thanks in advance

My buddy wore the suspenders last year with those pants on a backpack hunt with me and he said the suspender clips did rub and did hurt after a while.

I had the same thing happen...put them one, walked about 10 feet with my pack on and said "nope!"

That's funny, I've been wearing mine for three years now with zero issues. In fact, I completed a 14 mile pack out with 65lbs yesterday wearing a pair of kanabs and suspenders and didn't have a single issue.

Justin what pack do you have? I bet body type and lumbar pad style impact it. I will see if it's an issue for me this weekend but figured I'd see what other experiences were out there.

Thanks

I've used both a duplex and bikini frame and the pack out was with a 2015 exo 3500.

If you have any twists in the suspender webbing it'll be very noticeable. I have my rear attachment point and the front attachment points just above the lumbar pad and the belt.

The clips in the front bother me. Not a big deal in the late spring and summer when I only have a t-shirt on and can run waist belt under suspenders, but it sux when I can't.

Well the suspenders weren't an issue other than one time. But I adjusted and they didn't seem to be a problem. I did however hike 6.5 miles in to camp. Squat down to put a tent stake in a and the crotch split wide open. It was laughable, I've been hesitant to spend so much money on pants and then to have them fail so dramatically first time out was kind of a bummer. Brand new pants. I'll be calling first lite.

I've worn my Kanabs hunting with 2 different backpacks and a lumbar pack with shoulder straps. The strap adjustment on the Kanabs never caused any discomfort.

Which version of Kanabs do you have? Ones with the stretch nylon in the crotch, or the older ones without it? The older ones were and are notorious for that.
