How are you guys liking these gloves?

I have been on a quest to upgrade my glove system. I just got these in and they are GIGANTIC!

I had been using the Kuiu down glassing mittens, but they are really only good for sitting and glassing, so I bought the Sitka Coldfront GTX gloves and the First Lite Grizzly mitts because they are waterproof should I need to wear them to do anything in the snow/sleet/rain, etc. The idea was to replace my Kuiu down glassing mittens with something that would be more functional.

But.... Grizzly mitts are HUGE!!! They take up 1/3 of my guide lid on my Kifaru pack...maybe thats a little dramatic, but they are big.

I also just picked up a pair. They are big but are sized right for cold weather. I haven't put them to the test yet. But will be on a 2-3 week hunt here in a few days. Report to follow.

Jury is still out with me on these as well. I ALMOST sent them back, but decided to give them a try. We haven't had any cold weather yet, but they just don't "feel" that warm to me. Maybe I'll be wrong, but if not, someone will get a heck of a deal on these in the classifieds!

I agree Kotaman...I am looking for something to replace those down glassing mittens from Kuiu (which are really warm, but not the most functional piece of gear). They just fell like they have a ton of extra material without a ton of extra warmth.

My wife has a 3rd season tag in CO starting this weekend, but unfortunately the weather looks like about 25-30 at the lows for where we'll be, so I certainly won't be putting these things to test this weekend in 5-10 degree cold mornings like I wanted.

Yeah, let me know what you think and I'll do the same.

I noticed Rinella wearing them on a hunt that just didn't look that cold. Made me think they arent as warm as they look.

I'm interested in feedback as well. I've been looking at them but not so much for hunting as for other activities. Any glove that big makes it impossible to shoot with, at least for me. I usually use a lighter weight glove and a hand warmer muff to hunt in colder conditions. The grizzly gloves look nice for skiing as I've always felt mittens are warmer but give up too much dexterity. These seem like a good compromise.

I bought a pair during the flash sale. They are huge, but relatively light for their size. I got them mainly as a pair of snowboarding gloves and thought they might work as a winter cycling gloves as well, which, initial test suggest that they will.

They are great for glassing, and more functional than mittens. At least the index finger is free to focus the binos. They have been plenty warm for me. I also use them for crabbing. Pulling up 50' of wet rope in 40 degree weather, and they work great keeping my hands warm and dry.

Used them on a 3 week hunt this past November. A very warm mitt. I highly recommend them if you will be out in cold weather. They will be my go to hand shoe for all cold weather activities.

Wore them snowboarding today. Temps were In the mid 20s and they were quite comfortable without any liner on. They also tended to dry out remarkably fast anytime any snow got inside and melted.

Been wearing them again today + a thin pair of merino liner with temps in the low teens and my hands haven't been cold at all. Several people have asked about them, too. They do run a bit small.

Bumping this thread.

How are these working out? I am thinking about a pair for next year so looking for feedback.

How do they fit? I have big hands and worry that they seem to run small. I usually wear xxl gloves so not sure the xl size would work.

I wear XL gloves and the XLs fit perfectly. They are super warm and 100% waterproof. Mine are actually up for sale in the classifieds because they were too warm. I'll cut you a deal on em!

Used them on a Dec Idaho hunt down in single digits. We were out with some older family members using four wheelers more than I’d like. I had to borrow a four wheeler so I got the old one without grip heaters and my hands were toasty. I usually wear a large and have XL in these. They have enough room for a liner but I haven’t had to use one yet. I’ve caught some crap for skiing in camo from my non hunting buddies but I also haven’t had to go in due to cold hands on neg temp days.

Thanks. I am worried about sizing so will probably go with something else. My hands are big and xl usually doesn’t fit.
