I have several sets of Talleys and have zero issues with them. If you can find a used bushnell forge series scope you’ll be under $700 and will get a great tracking scope with really good glass. The turrets on those scopes are probably my favorite.

Try and scoop up a used Leupold VX5. Really anything in the VX3 lineup even the previous models are all great scopes. Not sure how much power you need but if you can find old stock nikon monarch golds... they were/are good scopes for the money too. Suspect you could find what was a $500+ scope for $200-$250 now days. Zeiss conquest is also another great option.

I have Talley lightweight rings and Leupold VX3i on alot of my rifles. They’ve worked out great for me.

I have found good deals on Leupold Scopes on eBay, nobody goes there for hunting equipment anymore.
I picked up a never installed VX-iii 3x10 x 40 for $200 last summer, great scope that has better glass than many made today.
