I know there is a lot of hate for Nightforce reticles as hunting reticles. I don’t disagree and understand the frustration. However, I would like to avoid that discussion here. I want to hear from people who actually own or have used an NX6 with the FC-MRx reticle.

I’m looking at the 2-12 F1 for:
*Woods hunting whitetails (30-200 yards)
*October antelope hunt (max 400 yards)
*Range shooting (everything from 100 yard sighting in and shooting out to 800 yards)

I want to delve into using mils, ffp, and longer range shooting and would like a scope I can practice with at the range and be happy using in the field.

You can probably guess some of my questions:
*Is the illuminated dot and circle bright enough and usable enough for low mag hunting on sunny days? I assume the reticle is near non-existent at low mag when not lit up.

*At what magnification does the entire reticle begin to be usable (tbh, I’m not concerned about when the Xmas tree is usable. More about when the rest of the reticle holds are usable)

*Is the dot too big for precision target shooting? For example, shooting tight 100 yard groups.

I understand I’m inducing a lot of compromise trying to cover this range of use. But I’d like to hear from those of you who actually own it or have used it for your opinion. Thanks!
