Headed to Montana tomorrow for 2 1/2 weeks of elk hunting. My dad and I drew the combo tags, mainly elk hunting but wont hesitate to put a nice deer on the ground. Im new to the forum and have found a lot of good gear info on here. Thanks to all that post and help out the new guys. Hopefully I'll be throwing up some pictures on here after we get back.

bring some warm clothing :) we've been 20 to 30 degrees below average and don't see a lot of change and the mid-high country snow is here till spring, so you can count on snow

As was stated above, dress warm and prepare for snow. Watched search and rescue circle overhead this past Sunday morning so be safe out there. Weather can change quickly in the mountains. Good luck and have fun!

Where you heading to? If it's to the western part, bring some warm clothes, this morning it was -11 on my way to work. It is supposed to warm up this weekend, but we have quite a bit of snow in the higher elevations.

Thanks everyone. Ya were hunting the western part of the state. Meeting a family friend in Polson and then headed out with him...blind folded im sure haha. I know he hunts all over the western part and said be ready to drive and hike until we find the elk!

Its cold for sure. Father in law said -20s according to the truck on the way out this morning. He was west of enis somewhere
