My dad, my uncle and I came out from Minnesota in 1979 [I was 15]. Never hunted elk before.
We shot 2 5x5s... public land, DIY...

Yes sir, took a little 4x4. I was into the elk from the first day, but ended up shooting on the second to last day of the hunt.

Nope.... 0-4 before I scored...14 of 15 since... my learning curve was a little shallow... I made enough mistakes those first 4 seasons for 3 hunters LOL

Awesome. Success in elk hunting isn't easy no matter how many years you have been doing it. To just come out and get it done is inspiring.

I did not tag out my first season. But, in my defense, I was only twelve.
