I went today to play as my wifey calls it.
Cotton balls/vaseline sealed in duct tape. 2 tape strips overlapped and side by side gives enough tape to added as extender, it worked very well.
peeled the extra tape off and pit it on the cottonball and light it.
The tape pouch acts as a base so I could move it around with a stick if needed.
Second fire was with a tin filled like
@journeyman713 talked about in his post of fire in the rain.
This worked fantastic I used a wick, pitch pine sticks, cottonballs and put wax in it to hold it together.
I think the pitch pine to that to the next level.
I did not prep any twigs or wood. I want something that takes fire in wet raining conditions that has already been thought out and can just be done.
Pull it out, Light it and pile your gathered material on it.
Also the fire bellow I added to the kit is perfect with so much moisture in the wood being able to add alot of air flow helps.
I have carried trioxane and vas/cotton balls for years without fail but this new combo hits the mark of flame and heat for long enough to dry and ignite quickly gathered material
