Find me a pair of pants better than the Kuiu Katanas

Anyone try the tall kutana and know if the thigh has more room? Thinking if they added length uniformly that might make the thigh just a little bigger.
I may have to order a pair to try. My last pair I tried was prior to short, regular, long sizing

Every pant in that category is trying to beat the Kutana... and I feel like I've tried them all just to fail haha

I am really excited to see how the new OV pants perform against them but it sounds like they might be a step in the Attacks direction as far as thickness and warmth so if that's the case, the Kutana will likely still reign supreme.

Funny, I came to the clothing sub to ask about alternatives to the Kutanas. Some good ideas.

I was about to order some more Kutanas but it looks like they have dropped my favorite color: Buckskin.

Anyone know other pants that compete with the Kutanas that are also available in that color?

Looks like the Prana stretch Zions comer in two similar colors: Sepia and Retro Olive. Anyone know which is most similar to Kuiu's buckskin?
Buckskin is in the outlet if they happen to have your size. If you can find them in a kuiu brick and mortar store, they honor the outlet price if they have the buckskin.

I've been running the Kuiu katanas for years now. Has to be over 5 by now. I have absolutely loved them. I have 3-4 pairs. But the tinkerer in me never seems to rest. I've always found the kutanas to be a perfect blend of durability, breathability and fit for me. They also hold up exceptionally well. I seem to wear them year round and on just about any hunt except cold snow hunts when I break out the attack pants. I can't seem to recommend them enough. I have ordered SG de haviland lites this past summer and couldn't get over how poor the fit was on me. Sent those back. I use to run Kings XKG pants before the katanas and loved those, but the durability was lacking.

So the question is....what is your go to pants? What I liked about the kutanas is they were light enough to wear all spring, summer, and most the fall with no complaints. Is there an a pant you recommend that I need to try? Also, if they don't have hip vents, don't bother recommending them. I don't think I would consider ever buying another pair of pants without the vents. Game changing.
Same here with kutanas being favorite fit and tough/light material. Canis alpine are great pants also for a little heavier pants.

Haven't worn the Kutana's but love the original First Lite Corrugate pants. All season comfort and easy to layer with.

I just picked up two pairs of the Kirkland pants. Better fit than the wrangler ATG I have. No side zips but $20 per pair is hard to beat. I snagged a pair of gray and brown to run until the OV hit the market

My Kutanas are a bit short but I like them. Next pair will get the long. I think the FL corregate are even better. I like the longer hip vents without mesh as well as the no stretch waist.

Gear ho here that will jump on the newest thing without one shred of loyalty and yet I now have 6 pairs of Kutanas and they are all I wear for just about anything, going on 6 years now. They are as close to perfect as I've found, from -15* to 100* I layer under as needed and they just keep trucking and all of them still look brand new. I hunt in them every weekend of the year almost, and more days than not from September through February.

Update - Still found nothing close to Kutanas. I have a pair of Corrugate Foundry’s I wear for cold weather shooting competitions because of the knee pads. As soon as it warms up I ditch them for Kutanas and just tell my knees I’m sorry. I also tried the 308’s this past season and they are too hot and pick easily. I was hopeful for the new Kifaru pants but the weight spec alone tells me I will find them too hot.

Kutanas are king and it’s going to be hard to ever beat them IMO.

Born Primitive Frontier Lite 2.0 are really nice pants and have pockets for knee pads, if that’s important to you.

Fjallraven Singi-X . Fit great. Lighter weight than their other options. Bootlace hook and adjustable ends. Hip vents. Good pocket situation. Built-in Belt. I’m impressed with these.

I’d give them a shot but they claim 18.7 oz for 34’s. My 36 Kutanas are 13.7 oz. I’m sure they are fantastic pants but I’d probably run hot in them. I don’t expect anyone to have anything lighter with equal or better durability. Kinda crazy what they’ve done with them really.

They have breathable material to vent out heat. Fjallraven’s fabric is the standard for durability. I love the Kutana fabric - I just think the fit leaves a lot to be desired?

I love attacks. But lately I been wondering about the fit of kutana vs attacks. You guys wearing the same size in both?

I wear regular 32 for attacks but like I said earlier the kutana seem shorter and more of a “skinny” fit. Next pair I’ll likely get the long. But not sure they make a 32” long. They do stretch out a bit during wear but fresh out of the dryer…. I’m like, how am I going to wear these. The 2 pairs of kutanas I have may end up as work pants(I’m a carpenter) as the FL Corregate foundry is becoming my go to hunt pants.

I've heard with new changes within the company their durability is no longer the standard and their fit is trending more towards the skinny/European fit more and more.
