FINALLY!!! Tikka Left Handed 223's

Picked up mine yesterday. I don't want to sound ungrateful or unreasonable but the person handling the shipping on these rifles needs a lesson on how to properly box up a rifle for shipping.
I live in Alaska and the rifle was shipped to my dealer in the original Tikka box with no other packaging. First time in my life I had a rifle shipped to me anywhere in the country where the original factory box was not inside another cardboard box. Granted, the shipper got lucky and there was no damage. But this could of been a huge cluster **** as the factory box was pretty much destroyed.

That is how all the rifles are shipped to every store that sells rifles. When I picked up my rifle the gun store had all the rifles that just came in that day behind the counter all in their factory boxes.

Any issues with the bushing option to be aware?
No issue kampfeld customs did one for me worked perfectly and was not very expensive. I bought the action barrel and had him add the bushing for about the same price as these.
2 of these still in stock

Another option would be to buy a left hand bolt body with 223 bolt face from PR precision. There’s another thread on here about it. I ordered one just prior to UM announcing the sign up so never got to actually utilize but overall quality looks very good. Still will need to check headspace and might need a gunsmith to dial it in.

He quoted me 1100 for a swap + single color cerokote and straight fluting/threaded on an ace.

What did he charge and what'd you have done? Maybe I'm making it too fancy 🤣

It is a first for me. I am 72 and all my previous rifle buys came in the original rifle box inside another cardboard box.

Same state as you, and I said the same thing. But I am EXTREMELY grateful that we didn’t get the usual gouging for shipping to Alaska. My box was in perfect condition. Went FedEx to ANC then mailed to the weeds in SE, as FedEx always does. Thanks UM for not hammering us on the shipping…can you hear me in the back.

Anyone shoot theirs yet? Post up some groups and load data.
Yeah, took mine out to the range this morning to play with. Shot it suppressed for the luxury but mainly focused on just zeroing - I need to change the damn stock or butt pad as its just uncomfortable. PMC bronze so the groups are somewhat average.

i shot 5 inchers today with 62 grainers from PMC. not what i was excepting. but on paper.

This rifle really hates hornady superformance vmax 53's. I'm absolutely blown away how the rokstock reduces muzzle rise to nearly zero. The RSS 223 lives up to the hype. Biggest thanks to UM for making this happen!

Here's the MV from my garmin:
-Hornady Superformance vmax 53
3509 fps
-Hornady ELD-M 73
2682 fps
-Black Hills TMK 77
2815 fps
-Bonefrog TMK 77
2782 fps
(All factory ammo)

Mine was with the PMC 55gr 2900 fps. In a similar vicinity 3-4 inches from a 3 shot group. For me, that's terrible shooting at 100, so clearly it really doesn't like them. Based on coy17s report seems like that likes things a little slower.

I didn’t have time to load some 75 grain elds. but was hoping for me. Clearly a picky barrel
