I fully agree. I see the subject come up from time to time, and I'm always surprised by the number of guys who have their stuff coated for non esthetic reasons. Coatings are not the equal of SS by a long shot. In addition to the shortfalls listed above, coatings can scratch and abraid away.

It's easy to confirm if you try to do it a second time it will say sorry you already on the list to be notified. I emailed them for updates and looks like we're looking at June.

I just got an update from my Tikka rep:

My order is SKU'd and approved for 100 quantity Stainless 20" Left Handed 223's with 5/8-24 threads from the factory.

The price on these is a little higher than normal due to the custom SKU says my rep, they will be $1029 US.

I think with the custom barrel length, stainless, and 5/8-24 muzzle threads that this is still a great value.

I have asked him for a production timeline now that they are approved, I will come back when I have the info.

That's reasonable price wise. If people put themselves down after the 100 count are they likely to miss out on this order?

There are 148 emails on the list, I will give each person a chance to purchase 1 and then if there are left overs from people that back out I will go back through the list for a second purchase option.

The actual barrel is threaded 5/8-24, all Tikka T3X will be coming this way in 2025. The barrel diameter is slightly enlarged over a few inches before getting to the muzzle.

Roksliders, a couple clarifications for you:

I did not set the price, Tikka did for the custom SKU. The standard MAP for all dealers on a stainless Tikka T3X is $879. Any dealer that advertises less than that is breaking the rules, or there is a rebate going on. This rifle is listed at $140 more than normal. If that turns you off just shoot me an email and I'll get your name off the list.

We have an anticipated date of 4-5 months from March 10th when they go in to production. So I will say August timeframe to be safe.
