Well there is 1 more. I just canceled my order. Called my local FFL:
- 10% to use their FFL for the transfer
- CA Sales tax 7.75%
- 11% "Newsome is an ass and CA legislature are Fascist" tax
- $38 background

Basically added another $400 to the cost. I'll just shoot my RH one ...

I have a lot of other stuff that I need to save money for. Honestly if you have a LH tikka laying around already, a custom barrel may cost about the same.

Still put my money where my mouth is. Hopefully they get here soon. Need to decide on scope, mounts, stock.

I noticed I got an email to say I needed to call them about a quote, but I’ve already given my credit card. Is this just auto reply or do I need to call?

Only 120 people or thereabouts have got a link to order so far more than 6 months after sign up...so a 2/3s hit rate is probably better than most of you inferior handed people can do at 50 yards .

Well, never came to this person who signed up in the 120, so I stand corrected. Placed an order.

Well, in all fairness to us wrong-handed people, on 2/20/25, this is what was showing on the sign up link:



Also on 2/20/25, Jake posted that the price was going to be “a little higher” at $1,029, due to the custom SKU. I emailed UM that day and canceled my order. The next day, Jake posted that there were 148 emails on the list. I wonder how many of those 148 had signed up for a rifle that cost $879? Now, I am being told the actual cost is $1,079. If that is correct, the real cost, when tax on the extra $200 is added, is nearly 25% more than what a bunch of us signed up for. Do you think that might have had anything to do with anyone deciding not to order?

BTW - I would still order one of these from UM for $879.

Down to 17 in stock. Waiting for shipping confirmation on mine. I always just bought lefthanded Remingtons and built exactly what I want. I bought this one even though I wish it was twisted 7". Worst case I rebarrel it later.

I can typically get customs built in less time than this process took. Glad UM did it, but I doubt they mess with it again.

I will say that the jump from $879 to $1079 gave me pause. My last tikka LH was purchased for $750 so, you’re not far from buying a LH action and a pre-fit custom barrel.
