I think a lot of macho men would be humbled pretty quickly if they had to fight a bobcat. I’ll play dead before I throw fists as a grizzly is fighting me

This is what I say all the time. If your clawed house cat decided it wanted to F you up you would have your hands full.

A friend of mine, a man's man, had 2 feral cats get in his store room. In an attempt to shoo them away he was attacked, wound up I the hospital, needed to see an orthopedic surgeon for his hands, underwent rabies vaccination, intravenous antibiotics and still has issues with his hands working properly.

So yea even a cub 200 lb grizzly, no man stands a chance.

My Dad and I tried to hold my 55# dog down to pull quills out of his face and we couldn't do it. He was a really gentle well mannered dog too. Humans can't do chit against a wild animal.

I killed a bobcat in a trap with a knife once. I wouldn't even consider it again.

My buddy was a college baseball player and swung on the cat with a snow shovel several times with the cat ducking and jumping clear each time....in a foot hold mind you before he connected and stunned the cat.

Another friend grabbed for the cat as I drew my knife and screamed "NO". I stuck the cat in the ribs as he reached for it. The cat levitated for a supernatural amount of time before expiring.

In a trap and beat with a shovel and still, that little 30 pounds of pure pissed was more than a handful.

IF I find myself fighting a bear, something went horribly and epically wrong.

But if I fight a bear, I'll fight to win.

I know what the odds say. I can't argue they'd be wrong.

But I don't wish to enter such a fray already deciding I've lost!

I think it depends a lot on how much time you have to prepare. If the bear has the edge - you are likely not in the running.

Unless I have a weapon I think you could give me a lifetime to prepare and a surprise attack on an unsuspecting griz and I’ll still loose 😂
