I've been researching a tripod to shoot and glass with. In the past I've shot off my pack or from / on from quick Sticks. Used my brother's Field Optics tripod last week sheep hunting on Lana'i ans I was really impressed. This package looks legit. All I need to add is a plate for my rifles rails and I can shoot, glass and I've got trekking g poles as well.
What am I not considering or what are other pros or cans I'm not tracking?

I’m happy with my ULP kit. I do wish I had a ball head to shoot with though

Thanks for that. I got the same feedback from my brother.
I’ve been meaning to give Field Optics a call to see what they’d recommend. They were great to deal with when I started doing some research into my tripod purchase.

Why not look at the RRS series of tripods and the anvil head. Probably the best setup for shooting.

Field Optics recommended a bigger tripod for shooting. That said, my brother has the 32mm legs and shoots off his with no problem. I'm probably going to get the lighter weight field Optics and a ball head off ebay and call it good. Covers my needs for a tripod to glass and shoot from and trekking poles.
