I am of the opinion that bears are like coyotes. As long as it’s legal, they are shooters.
I find I am a lot more selective, the farther away from the truck I get. Same if there are any canyons involved.

220ish. Good head to body ratio. What do you guys think of this one? Was watching him on Friday at about 900 yards. I definitely should have been more aggressive instead of waiting for him to feed down the mountain into range. Didn’t turn him up again the rest of the weekend.View attachment 1062903View attachment 1062904
This is another expansion where I can’t tell if he/she is a unit or a young one. What do you guys think of this one? Was watching him on Friday at about 900 yards. I keep doing the same thing and going back and forth in my head but have settled on “it looks like a big sow.”This is another expansion where I can’t tell if he/she is a unit or a young one.![]()
I have multiple videos of this bear and can screenshot quite few different angles. What angles would be helpful?I keep doing the same thing and going back and forth in my head but have settled on “it looks like a big sow.”
It’s so hard to tell without being there and more angles like I said before, and it sounds like we will never know.
Survey says... Big sow?Screenshots from a video I took at 65 yards. Foolishly did not have a bear tag during this archery mule deer hunt.

I would guess yes based off the shoulder hump
dude I’m right there with you. Going to share my on the ground from the first post and it’s the same thing. Shrink factor is realHere's my 'aw shucks' bear. It was my first year bear hunting and I thought I was looking at an average bear. This thing was like the size of a large dog lol. I've learned a lot since and have passed on multiple bears in recent years.
Does anyone else have some through the spotter and then on the ground examples? I think it would be helpful to have more examples like that.

It’s weird how it’s pronounced, haven’t seen too many that look like that in the shoulders.I would guess yes based off the shoulder hump
